My best shows always seem to be at Absolute Comedy Toronto...I just love that room!!! I look forward to every time I step onstage and take the mic...then I kick the shit out of myself afterwards. Good or bad show, I'll usually find something to frown upon.
My 2 worst shows were at open mics in Toronto...my 2nd and 3rd sets ever. I was totally unprepared and possible drunk and had friends sitting right in the front row. Never again!
I live in Whitby...so every show is a road show haha. I had my first corporate show at Christmas time in 2009, so that was the first real "road show". I travelled in first class all the way...on the friggin' GO bus, lugging my overnight bag, which was my Good Life gym bag. I brought a suit jacket and dress pants to wear also. My "garment bag" was a garbage bag tied around the coat hanger. My pants were falling out of the bag as I walked through the bus terminal. Luckily, I had a great show and a great time afterwards at their dance. Even stayed overnight at the hotel...alone.
The majority of my bits are autobiographical. They're based on a hint of reality and spiked with inappropriate liberties...like my joke about being banned from Facebook for posting a profile picture of me teabagging my 10 year old son. That joke has been a mainstay from early on and Absolute Comedy actually received phone-in complaints about it a day after I had performed there. These are the moments I cherish in comedy. I am not totally clean, not even close, but I don't consider my humour to be offensive at all. Just risque...not that there's anything wrong with that.
